LEEPA-RATTNER MUSEUM

Free Membership to Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art

Located on the Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College, The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is a modern and contemporary art museum featuring works from the 20th and 21st-century masters as well as contemporary artists working in Florida and the Gulf Coast regions.

All SPC employees may receive a free membership to the LRMA at St. Petersburg College. The membership covers two adults in the household and two children under 18. In addition, your membership also provides you with free reciprocal entry into 700+ museums across Florida and the US under the NARM reciprocal program. This includes other local treasures such as the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Pete, Tampa Museum of Art, and Ringling.

THE PALLADIUM

Whether in the main concert hall, Hough Hall with its unsurpassed new sound system, or kicking back in the intimate Side Door Cabaret, the historic Palladium Theater is consistently ranked as one of Tampa Bay’s best, most affordable venues for classical, jazz, blues, theatre, opera, Celtic, comedy, dance, educational, literary, community events, and more. The Palladium, located in downtown St. Petersburg’s cultural center, is part of what makes Tampa Bay great.

The Palladium is a historic theater in Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Just blocks from the scenic and trendy waterfront with plenty of dining, shopping and art galleries, a visit to the Palladium is an excellent addition to any trip to St. Petersburg.

Discounted tickets are available to SPC students, faculty, and staff for Palladium Presents shows and many community/rental shows.  SPC faculty, staff, and students can activate the SPC discount in the following ways when ordering a ticket: 

  • ONLINE – enter promo code GOSPC when ordering tickets online 
  • In person or on the phone – show SPC ID or notify box office staff that you are an SPC employee or student. SPC ID may be required when picking up tickets from will call if ordered over the phone.

SPC’s PLANETARIUM

ENJOY SPC PLANETARIUM SHOWS FROM HOME

You have a front seat to view the starscape with SPC’s Star Home Theater! SPC’s resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph will host a series of planetarium shows via Zoom through May 2021.

All shows are free, open to the public and start at 7 p.m. Check out the upcoming at-home star shows or the college’s event calendar at spcollege.edu/events, including links to sign up for shows.

Please note: The SPC Planetarium on the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus is closed until further notice as the college continues to closely monitor the rapidly changing situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States and Florida.

The Planetarium is located on the second floor of the Natural Science Building (SC 205).
Free parking is available for the celestial shows.

NATURAL HABITAT PARK

ESCAPE TO SPC SEMINOLE CAMPUS NATURAL HABITAT PARK

In a small corner of Seminole, in the middle of Florida’s most heavily developed county, a tract of nearly-forgotten land plays host to a wide variety of Florida plants and animals. Open to the public, SPC’s 40-acre Natural Habitat Park on St. Petersburg College’s Seminole Campus features:

  • A 200-yard boardwalk with 12 viewing stations that meander through undeveloped land. The viewing stations offer a variety of native vegetation unique to our Florida ecosystems.
  • A 50-seat teaching pavilion equipped with power, lights and networking capabilities that features a tile mural entitled Green by artist Feral Willcox.
  • A floating dock used in water sampling by the faculty and students in their courses.
  • A butterfly and sculpture garden featuring a sculpture by artist Ralph Komives entitled Kapu.

The park and pavilion enable students in St. Petersburg College’s Environmental Science Technology and other programs to study nature firsthand.
